Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has signed a new one-year-deal with the club, ending all speculation that he would be retiring at the end of the season. Giggs’s new contract will see him beyond his 40th birthday and will also see him surpass 1,000 senior games for United. Giggs is already the most successful player in British football history as he has won 13 league titles since he first played for United in 1990

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he remains confident that the club will be able to keep hold of star striker Luis Suarez next season. The Uruguayan only signed a new deal to keep him at Anfield until 2018 last summer remains subject to a lot of interest from some tope European clubs including German giants Bayern Munich

Former Chelsea player Gianfranco Zola has said that he is open to the prospect of becoming the clubs manager come the end of the season when interim manager Rafa Benitez leaves. But he has also stated that he is very focused on enjoying success with Watford who are currently sitting in the automatic promotion places in the Championship. Ever since departing Chelsea in 2003, Zola has said he has been open to a move back to Stamford Bridge if they wanted him to go back

QPR defender Chris Samba has denied reports claiming that he only joined the club because of money. Samba joined QPR in January for a club record fee of around £12.5 million and he is rumoured to be earning in excess of £100,000. But Samba has stated he hasn’t joined the club for money, it is simply so he can be closer to his family in England. QPR are currently bottom of the Premier League, and if they aren’t able to buck their ideas up soon they will be playing Championship football next season. And many people can’t see Samba and numerous other players sticking around if the club gets relegated

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that he does not have any special plans to stop Tottenham’s in form midfielder Gareth Bale on Sunday. Bale has been in fine form in Spurs and Wales in the  last seven games, scoring nine goals in the process. But Wenger has said that the side will be focusing on their own performance and not that of Bale

Staying with Gareth Bale, he has said that he is flattered to have been compared with the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in recent weeks. But the Welsh international has insisted that he does not model his game on the world’s best players

Stephen Hunt is in contention to make his first start of the season tonight for Wolves as they face high flying Watford. Hunt has been out the majority of the season with a hip injury, but when he finally came back to full futness, he was struck with a chest infection that kept him out for a while longer. Hunt is now fully fit and hopes to help the club in their relegation battle and also vows to give Dean Saunders his first win as Wolves boss tonight if he plays
