Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is closing in on a return to Italy with Serie A side AC Milan.
The twenty-two year old has fallen out of favour at the City of Manchester Stadium after his explosive personality getting him in trouble all too often, with a recent bust up with manager Roberto Mancini in training appearing to be the final straw.
The Italian International has been in talks with AC Milan throughout January, and a deal is nearing completion with the player reportedly having a leaving party over the weekend to say goodbye to his teammates.
AC Milan have offered around £18 million for the forward, with the English side holding out for £20 million for the player, in their bid to recoup the money they paid Inter Milan back in 2010 .
It is likely a compromise will be agreed as early as this evening, with the player set to fly out to Milan in the coming days to complete a deal before their transfer window closes at 6pm.
