After years of speculation, Barcelona have finally landed Brazilian International Neymar Da Silva Santos Junior (Neymar) for a reported fee of £45 million from Santos.

The talented forward is arguably the most promising footballer on the planet, and has been linked with moves to Europe for years.

He will sign a five year contract at the Camp Nou on Monday, after playing his final game for Santos this evening against Flamengo and joining up with Lionel Messi and co after the Confederations Cup at the end of June.

The twenty-one year old has scored 138 goals in 229 matches for Santos, and has been regarded as Brazils main threat for their quest for the World Cup on home soil next summer.

An official Barcelona statment:

“FC Barcelona and Santos have agreed terms for Neymar. The 21-year old is one of the most promising footballers on the planet.”

Neymar stated on his Instagram page:

“On Monday, I sign a contract with Barcelona. I want to thank the fans of Santos by these incredible nine years.”

The forward only had one year remaining on his existing contract in Brazil, and rejected the opportunity to move to Real Madrid.
