Barcelona is yet to announce the signing of Gerard Deulofeu from Everton, despite media claims he is being nursed for an injury at the club.
The Spanish winger ended his U21 European Championship in disappointment as Spain lost to Germany 1-0 in the final.
However, speculation on his future which had started during the tournament had seemingly come to an end when media across Spain and England reported that a deal for him to return to Barcelona was agreed.
Having come through Barca’s famed La Masia academy, Deulofeu left the club in 2015 to join English side, Everton, following a successful loan spell at Goodison Park.
However, despite reports of the move – neither Barca or Deulofeu have released the news, leaving the move yet to be officially confirmed.
Mundo Deportivo has claimed that the Spaniard has begun recovering from an injury at the Catalan club and is working closely with the club’s medical staff.
Marca has picked up the lack of communication from Barca and compared his return to Jesus Vallejo’s at Real Madrid, who was presented to the club’s fans last week.
Deulofeu’s Twitter has also been inactive since the tournament in Poland, stating that he still remains an AC Milan player.
