Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jakub “Kuba” Błaszczykowski has extended his contract with the club until the summer of 2018.

The winger has been at the club for the past six years, since joining the club for an undisclosed fee from Polish side Wisla Krakow in 2007.

He has been a huge part of the yellow and blacks success over the past few years under the guidance of manager Jurgen Klopp, winning consecutive Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 and the German cup last year.

The 27-year olds commitment to the club has gone down admirably with the clubs fans, where they will utilise the Polish International Captain’s experience to help push the side on once again in the quest for the Bundesliga title.

His new deal will keep him at the Westfalenstadion until the summer of 2018, taking his career with the club spanning over ten years,

This summer looks to be an interesting one for Dortmund, with Mario Gotze joining Bayern and Robert Lewandowski likely to follow, the club will focus their attentions on keeping key players such as Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Reus, to help ensure a stable future for the team going forward.
