Bursaspor loan for defender Anton Ferdinand

Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand is set to join Turkish side Bursaspor on loan for the rest of the season.

The centre back has been frozen out at Loftus Road this season, with his last Premier League appearance coming on Boxing Day, and his most recent outing during an embarassing 4-2 home loss to League 1 side MK Dons in the FA Cup.

The twenty seven year old is looking for first team football at this stage in his career, and a move to Turkey may be the break he needs where his career has been strongly coveted over the past year due to the alledged racial abuse encountered from Chelsea Captain John Terry during a match with the European Champions on October 23rd 2011.

It has been reported the player, who is set brother to Manchester United defender Rio, will fly to Turkey for talks today to undergo a medical ahead of joining the club where he will be joined by former England goalkeeper Scott Carson.
