Celtic have this evening stated they have rejected a second, and improved offer from Norwich City for striker Gary Hooper.
Manager Neil Lennon has suggested the offer was an improved offer believed to be around £5.5 million which was rejected immediately.
Norwich City are being persistent with their pursuit of a striker who has scored 70 g0als since moving to the SPL in 2010.
News of the Canaries improved offer was announced after Lennon confirmed Hooper had rejected the clubs latest contract offer, which has been reported will be the clubs final one offered to him.
With 18 months left on his contract, it puts Celtic in a difficult predicament with the forward interested in a move back to England, and being unhappy at not being offered a contract enabling him to be one of the highest paid players at the club.
Due to the news of Hooper's rejection of a new contract, and Norwich's second offer for the player, Burnley striker Charlie Austin is now 4/6 at SkyBet to join to the club as his potential replacement.
