Hi guys, today I wanted to do an article on this weekends Championship games, and my predictions on the results. Please feel free to comment, there will also be a thread on predictions available in our forum (http://thesportsfamily-com.thesportsfamily.com/forum/) where you can post your own predictions and discuss with others.
First off I’ll start with tonights game, Doncaster v Yeovil. Two sides towards the bottom of the championship, however I can’t see past Doncaster for this one because of Federico Macheda re-signing on loan, for me a comfortable Donny win, I’m going for….
Next we have Sheffield Wednesday v Huddersfield, and interesting one for me. Wednesday had not been doing well until their 5-2 victory over Reading, however following this result they failed to push on and suffered a 3-0 defeat to Derby. Huddersfield have lost their last 2 against Birmingham and Wigan but have managed to find the net in the majority of games this season. I think this will be a close game, but I am giving it to Sheffield Wednesday narrowly, I’m going for….
Sheffield Wednesday 2
Next we look at Birmingham v Blackpool. Two teams at different ends of the table, however Birmingham did win their last game whereas Blackpool lost theirs to Ipswich, however this is not going to affect my choice, I don’t think it’ll be a walk over but I do think Blackpool will win comfortably, I’m going for….
Next up we have Blackburn v Reading. Reading, as I’m sure you all know is my team, so I’ll try not to go on too much about them! I think Blackburn are a very strong side and will finish higher up the table than they currently are at the moment. With a loss to Brighton in their last game, and Reading looking to build on a solid draw with QPR, I am going to give this one to Reading narrowly, especially if the likes of Williams and Drenthe can return from injury in time for the game. I’m going for….
Bournemouth v Derby now. Bournemouth at home have been very strong this season, and in their last outing had a very good draw away at Burnley, with Lee Camp between this sticks I think Bournemouth look a much stronger outfit. Derby come into the game off the back of a 3-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday and the two teams sit in similar positions in the table. Due to them being at home, I’m going for a narrow victory for Bournemouth, but I see this as a high scorer. I’m going for….
Ipswich v Leicester is an interesting one for me, despite their league position I think that Ipswich are a really strong side, and will cause Leicester some trouble. Leicester will be looking to come back from a defeat at the hands of Forest, but I see a close game between these two, and I’m going to go for a score draw. I’m going for….
Up next is Leeds v Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough have not had the best of starts which led to the sacking of Tony Mowbray. Aitor Karanka will take charge for the first time, but I think it will take a while for his ideas and philosophies to come into play. Leeds are quietly moving forward registering points on the board and I think they will win comfortably in front of their home fans tomorrow. I’m going for….
Millwall v Barnsley sees two teams close to each other in the league table play one another. Millwall are without a win since the end of September, whereas Barnsley are unbeaten in their last four. I think Barnsley can build on their recent form and steal a win here, though it will be close. I’m going for….
A top of the table clash next with Nottingham Forest v Burnley. A game I think will be very close. Forest had a strong win in their last game and Burnley were held to a draw by Bournemouth. I do think Burnley will run out of steam eventually, and I have a feeling tomorrow might be the start. I’m going for….
Nottingham Forest 2
QPR v Charlton with all due respect to Charlton is a foregone conclusion for me, I expect a comfortable win for the home side, I’m going for….
Watford v Bolton is next, Watford sit seventh just outside the play off places, where as Bolton find themselves 10 places lower. Bolton have been in good form though, whereas Watford have failed to win in their last 3, therefore I’m giving this one to Bolton narrowly. I’m going for….
Finally, we have Wigan v Brighton. Sitting next to each other in the table, with only a point to separate them, you’d expect this to be a close encounter. Both have been in very good form, and I could easily go for a draw here, but I am going to give this one to the home side, narrowly. I’m going for….
