Leeds vs. Sheffield Wednesday

Today’s early kick-off saw Sheffield Wednesday travel to Elland Road for a ferocious Yorkshire Derby which finished level at 1-1. Kamil Zayatte gave the visitors an early lead with a strong header looping over Paddy Kenny just before the end of the first half. However, Leeds battled back with a fantastic solo effort from Ross McCormack to snatch a point from the Owls.

Reading vs. Watford

The 3pm kick off saw Watford travel to Madejski Stadium for what turned out to be an exciting, goal-filled game which finished 3-3. Adam Le Fondre began the goal galore with a fantastic effort just inside the box, with a venomous volley into the top of the net from a Reading corner. With Reading dominating the first half It was a matter of time before Reading would add to their tally with Jem Karacan tapping in a scrappy goal from close range then another tap in later in the second half. However Watford were a different side after the second half and some later changes saw the Hornets really raise their game with an early effort from Marco Davide Faraoni, a very controversial penalty from Troy Deeney  and then a late equaliser from Fabbrini. Despite Reading being 3-1 up in the second half, they were unable to keep hold of their lead and the game finished at 3-3.

QPR vs. Ipswich

It was young striker Tom Hitchcock who bagged three points for the hoops at Loftus Road. With early efforts from the likes of Charlie Austin and Clint Hill both rattling the bar with further dominance and pressure in the second half. In the end the score finished at 1-0 to the Rangers with the Tractor Boys unable to find the net despite a few chances.

Nottingham Forest vs. Bolton

Nottingham Forest are looking very promising in the early stages of the Championship with a huge 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers. Goals from Jamie Mackie, Andy Reid and Henri Lansbury saw Forest fly past Bolton at ease. It was a very thrilling game which saw Bolton down to 10 men when Bolton defender Darren Prately was shown a second yellow card, but despite their best efforts they were not able to get any consolation and could not wait to end a very bad day at the office.

Birmingham City vs. Brighton and Hove Albion

Birmingham City were beaten at home with just one second half effort from Andrew Croft separating the two teams and with Brighton gaining their first win of the season. It was a game of the two sides with both sides coming close to scoring however it was in the 73rd minute in which Crofts’ strike slotted past a helpless Randolph to snatch their first 3 points of the season.
