Chelsea have confirmed they are interested in Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland.
The European Champions have made an inquiry this morning regarding the players availability with only two days of transfer window left.
With first team goalkeeper Petr Cech being currently injured and Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtious being on loan at Atletico Madrid, the Blues are looking to add the England International to their squad.
No formal offer has been placed for the nineteen-year old stopper, although a bidding war is likely to start imminently, in light of Birmingham's precarious financial state with all player being made available for the right price.
Butland was subject to a £6 million offer from Southampton in the summer, which the Championship outfit rejected, though an offer for half this amount is likely to be accepted currently for his services.
It is understood the player would reject the opportunity to move to Chelsea, at the fear of not having enough playing time at Stamford Bridge which is what he is looking for if he is to leave St. Andrews.
