Daily Football Round-Up Tuesday 29th January

I’ll start away from the transfer window today, as Sir Alex Ferguson has been charged by the FA for his comments aimed towards the linesman after United’s game at White Hart Lane last week. He has until 4pm on Friday 1st February to respond to the charges.

Arsene Wenger has ruled out the moves of David Beckham and David Villa today. Beckham has started training with The Gunners but insists it is to maintain fitness, and Barcelona have repeatedly said they will not be selling Villa this month.

“Mario Balotelli will not be leaving Manchester City this month.” How many times have we heard this in the past 3 weeks? Well the Italian has agreed a deal to join AC Milan on a four-and-a-half year contract. According to City the medical will be completed on Wednesday, although Milan claim the deal is already done.

Harry Redknapp has admitted he would be interested in signing Peter Crouch and Christopher Samba in the next two days, but conceded the moves may be unrealistic. Harry said he has spoken to the Chairman and doesn’t know the progress of the potential deals but thinks they are “no-goers.”

Schalke have wasted no time spending the money they received from Lewis Holtby’s move to Spurs. They today confirmed the signing of Michel Bastos on loan until 2014 from Lyon.

Reports are emerging that Reading have agreed a deal with Sheffield United to sign Nick Blackman. The Berkshire club are also closing in on Blackpool forward Tom Ince.

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal with Peterborough to sign George Boyd and are now in talks with the player over personal terms.

Anton Ferdinand has joined Bursaspor from QPR on loan until the end of the season. Rangers have also loaned Rob Hulse to Millwall, Michael Harriman to Wycombe Wanders, Michael Doughty to St Johnstone and Jordan Gibbons to Inverness. Busy day!

Ipswich Town have signed Richard Stearman on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.
