Newly promoted Crystal Palace are looking to make their move in this summers transfer window by making Vitoria Guimaraes striker Amido Balde their first signing.
The 22 year old striker plays his trade in Portugal and scored 7 goals in his 27 games for the club as the finished 9th in Portugal's top division.
Balde has represented Portugal at U20 level and is currently in Glasgow for talks with SPL Champions Celtic after a fee was agreed for his services over the weekend.
Ian Holloway's side after interested in the giant striker, although will have to move quickly to land the player, with his heart currently set on a move to Scotland.
The striker is available for around £2.5 million and will help fill the void left by Glenn Murray who has been ruled out for the foreseeable future with knee ligament damage.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon confirmed his interest in the striker in an interview with BBC Radio Scotland after ending interest in Dundee United striker Johnny Russell:
"He is a player we have scouted and looks the type we would like,"
"But, whether we can get a deal done or not, I don't know. We are just looking to strengthen that area.
"Balde is a big striker and has the physical attributes we are looking for, but he is interesting other clubs."
News of an official offer by the Eagles is still to be reported, although a permanent transfer for the forward looks likely to happen in the coming days to Celtic or London.
