Everton have completed their first summer transfer in the form of Wigan Athletic striker Arouna Kone.
New Toffees boss Roberto Martinez raided his former side to land the Ivory Coast International in a deal which is believed to be worth £6 million for the Championship side.
The forward moves to Goodison Park on a three-year contract and has been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside over the past month.
After scoring 11 goals last season for the Latics, his goals weren't enough to keep the club in the Premier League, although his performances have warranted interest from many Premier League sides including Newcastle United in recent weeks and Martinez looked to tie up the deal at the earliest opportunity.
Kone moved to the Premier League from La Liga outfit Levante last summer on a three-year contract and has previously spent time with Sevilla and PSV Eindhoven.
The Toffees are looking to follow up the signing of Kone with former team-mate Antolin Alcaraz, who looks set for a move from Wigan in the coming days.
