Fulham are continuing a busy pre-season by announcing another signing in the form of AS Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenberg.
The AS Roma goalkeeper was heavily linked with a move to Craven Cottage in January and has finally completed his move after announcing his Twitter Page:
“I am certainly, next season i am goalkeeper of Fulham FC’
News of his transfer being completed, follows on from AS Roma’s Sporting Director, Franco Baldini confirming he was in London yesterday for talks in an interview with Corriere Dello Sport:
“I went to London for the sale of Stekelenburg at Fulham” “There were questions to be answered but I closed a deal subject to the usual conditions.”
The Dutch International stopper is likely to pen a five-year contract in London, and will cost the Cottagers a reported £3 million, which is an absolute bargain for a player of his calibre and experience.
The 30-year old has featured 54 times for his country, and has played almost 50 games for AS Roma since joining the club from Ajax in 2011.
