Fulham are close to their first signing of the transfer window in the form of midfielder Derek Boateng, who is currently at Fulham undergoing a medical.

The Cottagers have a long standing interest in the Ghana International whose move to the Premier League fell through last summer.

Boateng has over 40 caps for his country, and has been called up to the Ghana squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations. Due to this he won’t be available for selection, if signed, until the latter part of January

At 29, he has found first team football difficult to come by at his current club FC Dnipro in the Ukraine, and has only made a handful of appearances this season.

He will cost the club a reported £2 million, and will fly out with Ghana squad to the African Cup of Nations in South Africa after completing his medical and agreeing personal terms.
