Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has joined Turkish side Galatasaray on an 18-month contract.
It was announced on the Galatasaray official website this morning, that they were in talks with Drogba's representatives in China regarding a permanent transfer, and it has been updated this evening to state they have their man!
The powerful frontman is unsettled in China, where he joined Shanghai Shenhua last summer on a free transfer on a multi-million pound contract.
The Ivory Coast International had been strongly linked with a move to Serie A with both Juventus and AC Milan offering an 18 month contract to the player, before reports over the weekend of a potential shock return to Stamford Bridge under new manager Rafael Benitez.
Drogba, who will turn thirty five in March, is looking for a move back to Europe, and he is set to sign an 18 month contract at the Turk Telecom Stadium woth a reported £7 million.
He will join Dutch International Wesley Sneijder in Turkey, and fellow International compatriot Kolo Toure who is set to join from Manchester City.
