West Ham United have confirmed defender Guy Demel has penned a contract extension at the club until the summer of 2015.
The Ivory Coast International has been an ever present for the Hammers this season since their promotion via the playoffs to the Premier League.
His initial spell at Upton Park was blighted with injuries, although his performances this season have justified a contract extension from the initial deal which was due to expire in the summer.
The 31-year old joined from Bundesliga side Hamburg two years ago, and will be looking to celebrate his new contract with a win at former club Arsenal in the Premier League this evening.
Demel mention on the West Ham TV Channel: "It's really good for me and I'm really happy to have a new deal with West Ham."
"To play Arsenal, against the big lads and the big teams, for every player, is a good feeling."
"It will be special but not too much, because i just spent a year there, so it's not a big deal"
