Hector Bellerin informs Arsenal that he wants to leave

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has told the club that he wants to leave and re-join Barcelona, according to reports.

Speculation on Bellerin’s proposed summer return to the Catalan capital has been rife since the domestic season ended with Barca keen to sign an established right back.

Following Dani Alves’ departure from the Camp Nou last summer – the club have failed to find a steady option with midfielder Sergi Roberto playing the most part of the season in that role, whilst Aleix Vidal was ruled out with injury.

New boss Ernesto Valverde is keen to improve on that and sees Bellerin as the perfect option.

Arsenal have been strong in their stance about the availability of the Spanish youngster, despite a lack of playing time towards the back end of the season.

However, it is now understood that the former Barca academy star has told the North London club that he would like to leave and return to Spain this summer.

His return to England following his country’s final defeat to Germany in the Under-21 European Championships in Poland, is now set to see him force a move away from the club.

A transfer fee in the region of £30m has been reported, however, this could change in the next few weeks.
