Juventus have officially confirmed the signing of Bayern Munich's Douglas Costa on a season-long loan deal with an option for a permanent transfer next summer for a fee in the region of €40m.
After documenting his arrival in Italy on Tuesday, Juve has now unveiled Costa as their latest addition to their squad on their website as they look to continue their domination in the Serie A next season.
The midfielder who possess the ability to effectively use both feet has made the move to Turin after a lack of game time at Bayern forced the 26-year-old to re-evaluate his future.
Costa made 77 appearances for the Bundesliga side in two seasons, netting 14 goals in that time and the German side has already secured a replacement for the 26-year-old after announcing a two-year loan deal with Real Madrid for James Rodriguez.
A statement released by Juventus said: "Juventus Football Club announces that it has finalised the agreement with FC Bayern München for the temporary, until June 30, 2018, acquisition of the right to sporting athlete of Douglas Costa de Souza for a fee of €6m.
"The contract also provides Juventus faculty to exercise, by June 30, 2018, the right of option for the final acquisition of the player for a consideration of €40m payable in two financial years.
"Upon the occurrence of certain conditions during the duration of the sports performance contract with the footballer, Bayern may pay an additional fee of €1m."
