Nottingham Forest have parted company with manager Alex McLeish after just over a month of him being in charge at the club. Questions over the Scotsman’s future had surfaced following a reported dispute with the club’s chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi over the club’s failure to sign George Boyd from Peterborough United on transfer deadline day, The proposed move was cancelled by Al-Hasawi at the last minute when Boyd failed an eye test, despite completing the other relevant parts of the medical
Phil Jones looks set to miss Manchester United’s Champions League 1st leg against Spanish champions Real Madrid next week after he was struck down by a bout of shingles. Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has said that he hopes to be fit for the clubs Premier League match against West Brom next Monday. Sturridge suffered an injury during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Premier League Champions Manchester City on Sunday, in which he scored his fourth goal for the club since joining from Chelsea in January

Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal to keep him at the club until the Summer of 2016. Britton has spent the majprity of his career with the Swans, making over 400 appearances since joining the club back in 2002 on a loan from West Ham. Britton has said that he wants to finish his career with the club as it has been his life for the past 10 years

Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap is hoping that he is able to turn his loan move to Championship side Barnsley into a permanent one. Delap joined the Tykes on deadline day until the end of the season, hoping to gain some first team football, which is something he hasn’t had all to often at Stoke this season. Delap’s Stoke contract runs out in the Summer and it is believed that  Barnsley are one of the clubs Delap would consider joining

Leyton Orient striker Kevin Lisbie has signed a contract extension to keep him with the club until the end of next season.  Since joining the club in 2011, Lisbie has scored 21 goals in 69 games

Burton Albion are set to appeal against the sending off of captain Zander Diamond against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday. The Brewers skipper alledgedly head-butted Pim Balkestein, but Burton boss Gary Rowett has said that he will be reviewing footage on the matter
