Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that midfielder Jack Wilshere must be protected from burnout. Wenger believes that the 21-year-old can become one of the best players in the world if he keeps on playing like he is at the moment, but he is concerned tht Wilshere will be over used because of the amount of talent he has. Since coming back from a serious injury, Wilshere has been instrumental for both Arsenal and England

Premier League clubs will face a points deduction if they breach new spending controls. The chief executive of the Premier League Richard Scudamore has confirmed this. The chairmen of all 20 Premier League sides have agreed to limit player wages from next season and also another measure which will not let a club make more than a £105 million loss over 3 years

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has said that it is touch and go whether Loic Remy will be available to play against Swansea this Saturday. QPR signed the striker for £8 million from Marseille in January, and since then has scored one goal for the club

England manager Roy Hodgson has said that there is no chance of Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand being called back up to the international squad. Ferdinand has earned 81 caps for England since making his debt back in 1997 against Cameroon

QPR striker DJ Campbell has joined Championship club Blackburn Rovers on a 93-day emergency loan deal. Campbell was set to move to Blackburn on transfer deadline day, but the move was not able to be completed in time. Campbell has already had a successful loan spell with Ipswic Town this season, where he scored 10 goals

Chelsea manager rafa Benitez has said that defender John Terry is set to miss Chelsea’s match against Wigan this Saturday through injury. The extent of the injury is not yet known, but it is not thought to be that serious of an injury

Demba Ba and Petr Cech could also both miss out on the visit of Wigan as Ba suffered a badly broken nose in Chelsea’s 3-2 loss to Newcastle last week and Cech broke his little finger, also in the 3-2 loss to Newcastle. But one good bit of news for Chelsea is that Eden Hazard is now available after serving his three-match-ban

Leeds United have admitted that they are very hopeful of keping Everton startlet Ross Barkley beyond his current loan deal. Barkley’s loan deal is set to expire next week and Leeds boss Neil Warnock has insisted that he wants to keep the 19-year-old at Elland Road
