It is unlikely that Sunderland defender Wes Brown will play again this season, after he suffered yet another injury. Brown has been out of action since last January after hurting his knee. It is rumoured that both Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in signing the Senegalese striker and it is also reported that Chelsea are very close to securing the deal to bring Ba to Stamford Bridge

Brendan Rodgers has said that critics should wait until the last two months of the season to judge his side. Liverpool have been very inconsistent this season, for example, they were very poor in a defeat to Stoke, but then they were very impressive win over QPR

Staying with Liverpool, they have had a loan bid for Barcelona and Spain striker David Villa rejected. Barca are only looking to sell Villa and not to loan him. If Liverpool were to make an offer to sign Villa permanently then they would have to match Barca's £16 million price tag
