Manchester City have this afternoon completed the signing of Sevilla winger Jesus Navas on a four-year contract.
The pacey wideman has signed for an initial fee of £14.9 million after completing a medical in New York yesterday.
It is a good move by the former Premier League Champions to land a player of Navas' quality for a fee just shy of £15 million and will help offer an outlet on the wing which they lacked last season.
Navas has played his entire career for Sevilla and suffers from chronic homesickness which has scuppered moves in the past.
It is unclear whether the Spanish International will overcome his problems by playing away from Spain, but he does have fellow natives David Silva and Raul Garcia to help him blend in at his new side.
In an interview on the Manchester City Offical Website, Navas stated on his move:
"Manchester City is an exciting project and this is the right moment for me to take this step,"
"I'm very happy with the opportunity and the decision."
"The Premier League is a competition where the football is very fast and will suit the way I play. I'm really looking forward to it," Navas said.
"I'm going to a great club in England and I want to continue developing my game there. The Club has put a lot of faith in me and I want to repay them out on the pitch."
