Manchester City have this afternoon agreed a fee with Sevilla for winger Jesus Navas, according to reliable Spanish journalist Graham Hunter.
It has been reported that a fee of £21 million has secured his services, with a further £3 million based on appearances and the clubs performance in the Champions League.
The 27-year old has been a regular for the Spanish National team over recent years, and has helped them win the European Championships and the World Cup.
He was recently quoted in an interview with the Daily Star:
“I like Manchester City a lot and it has great players.”
“Manchester City has done all it can to bring me in and I have to be grateful for that. I want to go on and win trophies.”
Navas has unquestionable ability, which he has demonstrated consistently in La Liga with Sevilla, who finished 9th last season.
He appears to be incoming manager Manuel Pellegrini’s first signing at the Etihad Stadium, and will add much needed pace to a narrow midfield squad which the former Premier League Champions currently have.
