Ligue 1 side Marseille have acted quickly to help fill the void left by Loic Remy moving to Queens Park Rangers, by announcing the signing of Modou Sougou from Romanian side CFR Cluj.
The 28 year old has moved to the Stade Velodrome on a three year contract and becomes the clubs third signing of the January Transfer Window.
Sougou is a Senegalese International, who can play on either flank and will go straight into their squad for their next fixture due to his native country failing to qualify for the African Cup of Nations which is currently taking place in South Africa.
He will join the likes of midfielder Foued Kadir from Valenciennes and 18-year-old goalkeeper Brice Samba from Le Havre in arriving at the club, as Manager Élie Baup looks to spend a chunk of the money they received for Loic Remy.
Baup confirmed on the Marseille Official Website:
"Sougou as an attack-minded player on the flank with a different profile to the players we already have, who likes getting on the ball and especially passing."
