AS Monaco have confirmed their third signing of the transfer window in the form of Portugal International Ricardo Carvalho from Real Madrid.
The centre half joins national compatriot Joao Moutinho at the Stade Louis II, and Columbian International James Rodriguez who both joined the newly promoted Ligue 1 side last week.
At 35, Carvalho was looking for a new challenge in his career, and a final pay day im sure, and has agreed a one-year contract with his new side, as his existing deal at Real Madrid was due to end in the coming weeks.
Monaco are looking to build a side capable of challenging in Ligue 1 next season, and the Portuguese defender has the experience and leadership to help push the club forward.
He has the opportunity to extend his deal at the end of the season, and he is likely to be joined by fellow La Liga player Radomel Falcao who looks set to seal a £50 million move imminently.
