Monday Transfer News – July

Players having all returned from their World Cup duties and their annual holidays, its not uncommon to see mobile phones attached to their ears as the transfer window hots up! The rumour mill is grinding away with little evidence it has but nonetheless churning out the butter for us all to spread thinly giving a purpose to the feeds we all watch!

Southampton are grasping at straws now holding onto Dejan Lovren whose switch to Liverpool looks a done deal, with Koeman now focussed on another dutch replacement Ron Vlaar. The Liverpool team now beginning to look like last seasons Southampton side and they resembling a strong Eredivisie side, most fans will be feeling the pain of Southampton when they were by far the team to watch last season. Brendan Rodgers shows no stopping of the incoming to Anfield though with interest in Zakaria Bakkali at PSV and having also just landed Loic Remy. Interest in Isco seems to be rife on the social networks as well. It remains to be seen as to where all these are going to fit in at Anfield and some of last years stars must be cautiously looking over their shoulders at the moment.

Southampton are also sweating over the future of Jay Rodriguez who has yet to confirm interest in a 5 year deal offered to him and may just see how big the interest is from Liverpool and Tottenham this week. With doubts over Lovren and Schneiderlin, and already losing his strike partner Lambert, Lallana and Shaw this transfer window, he may be feeling very uneasy about his future at the South Coast club. It is likely he will want re-assurances about who is coming in, and may well see how is relationship develops with Pelle, Koeman’s latest signing.

Schneiderlin is expected to link up with his former boss at White Hart Lane this week, making that 5 of last years stars leaving the South Coast club. Although interest from Southampton in Steven Caulker may have faltered as it is expected that QPR will land him.

Staying with QPR and as Adel Taarabt has been left out of the pre-season tour it seems likely he will seal a move to a Serie A side this summer.

Palacios has failed a medical at Qatar, so he will not be leaving Stoke at the moment, whom must be now weighing up his options and a potential free.

Pochettino having signed Ben Davis, now looks set to release Danny Rose with the potential frontrunners being Hull City. It is expected that Schneiderlin will join hime from Southampton at some point, as indicated above.

Mourinho love affair with Drogba shows no signs of abating with the star expected to sign this week for Chelsea once again.

Everton are expected to land Brendan Galloway from MK Dons.

It appears the fabulous Columbian keeper David Ospina is nearing completion of a €4m move to a North London Club, namely Arsenal.

Is he going or not, seems to be the key in the ongoing saga with Arturo Vidal. Manchester United seem to want Cavani from PSG and he is to hold some talks with the club in an effort to force a move to United. Patrice Evra will complete his move to Juventus later today,
