New Valencia midfielder Nemanja Maksimovic has been ruled out of the club’s North America pre-season your after failing to be granted entry to the United States.
The Serbian international joined the club from Kazakhstan side Astana earlier this summer and had been eagerly anticipating the tour to gain first team football and push and prepare for the new season.
However, reports in Spanish daily Marca say that he has now returned to Valencia after being told by Immigration Control that he would not be allowed to enter the country, having not been issued the correct visa.
Maksimovic will now miss the upcoming friendly with Cincinnati, having already missed the game with New York Cosmos.
The 22-year-old is one of few arrivals at the club this summer, joining Brazilian keeper Neto, who signed from Juventus.
Having began his career NK Domzale, the young midfielder has rose to stardom, having represented Serbia on three occasions.
Valencia’s pre-season so far has seen them beat Swiss side Lausanne 5-0, Sporting Lisbon 3-0 and a defeat to the Cosmos, 2-0.
They begin their new season at home to Las Palmas, before meeting Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second game of the season.
