Newcastle close on Quadruple swoop

Newcastle United are looking to complete a massive raid on Ligue 1 by signing Yoan Gouffran, Moussa Sissoko, Massadio Haidara and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

The ambitious move has come only three days after club lost at home to relegation rivals Reading, and look to pull themselves clear by adding the quartet to fellow Ligue 1 arrival Mathieu Debuchy.

Yanga-Mbiwa is close to completing his £6.7 million move to club after a fee was agreed over the weekend for his services, with the player undergoing a medical and agreeing personal terms today.

Bordeaux striker Yoan Gouffran will fly into Newcastle over the coming days, after a fee of just over £1 million was agreed for his services this morning.

Nancy full-back Massadio Haidara who operates at left back will move to the club in the coming days, and will join fellow French Compatriot Mathieu Debuchy in the Magpies defence.

Their other quest which is in the process of being completed is a move for Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko. The player met QPR representatives on Monday, though it has been revealed today that he is set to join Newcastle in the coming days.

So five arrivals from Ligue 1 in January for Newcastle it appears, with many of the talents moving for minimal fees with huge potential sell on value.
