Newcastle United have this evening confirmed the signing of striker Yoan Gouffran from Bordeaux.
Manager Alan Pardew loves to flirt with Ligue 1 for his signings, and the player will join Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Mathieu Debuchy who both have joined the club in January.
Gouffran was out of contract in the summer, and Newcastle initially had a £750,000 offer rejected for talented marksman. Their increased over believed to just over £1.5 million was enough for his parent club to accept, and flew to Newcastle today for talks.
The player underwent a medical at the club this morning, and agreed personal terms before signing a four and a half year contract with the club this evening.
He will wear squad number 11and will go into the Newcastle squad for their relegation 6 pointer away at Aston Villa next week.
Gouffran confirmed the move on his Twitter last night: “Tomorrow I will be a new player of Newcastle and I am proud. Thanks to everyone.”
