The Brazilian international struggled at times last season to find the back of the net but his performances in certain games such as the famous Champions League comeback against Paris Saint-Germain – still keep him as one of the most of impressive front-men in European football.
The 25-year-old was left upset with his own performances and the exit from the Champions League to Juventus seems to have stayed in his head as he spoke to ESPN Brasil about his focus and desires for the upcoming season.
“I hope it will be a season with a lot of success and a lot of happiness,” the Barca star told ESPN Brasil.
“That’s what I hope and I’m getting ready for it.
“It’s going to be one of the most important seasons of my life. It will be the most important season of my life.
“So I’m really happy and really excited, and I’m going to start training and get prepared.”
Having joined Barca in 2013, Neymar 15 goals in 41 appearances during his debut season, further enhancing those figures with 90 goals in his previous three seasons.
