Nottingham Forest have increased their offer for Birmingham City winger Chris Burke.
Manager Alex McLeish who used to coach Burke at St Andrews is looking to wrap up the deal before Thursdays deadline, and has increased his offer to £500,000 for the player, which has yet to be answered.
Burke has been in impressive form during his tenure in the Championship with Cardiff City and Birmingham, and recently won the Player of the Season award at The Blues last season.
The wingers contract is due to end in the summer, and the twenty-nice year old looks set for a move to the City Ground due to Birmingham acting Chairman Peter Pannu saying the club need money to help steer the club away from the inevitable possibility of administration.
As well as Burke’s imminent departure, the club are likely to lose defender Curtis Davies to Premier League side Reading, and Jack Butlan is wanted by European Champions Chelsea.
