Nottingham Forest have this evening confirmed the signing of Millwall striker Darius Henderson.
The 31-year old has joined the Championship side on a free transfer on a deal until the end of the season, after only having 6 months left on his current contract.
The powerful frontman who has been a journeyman in Englands second tier for most of his career, has an impressive goalscoring record in recent seasons after finding the net 15 times last season, and a further seven times this year including a goal in Millwall's 4-1 away win at The City Ground in November.
The downside to the signing is the looming court case over Henderson, where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of GBH and will attend St Albans Crown Court on March 5th where his outcome will be decided.
Chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi said: “We are delighted to have brought a player of Darius’ experience to the Club.
“He knows all about the Championship and has also played at the highest level in England as well and I’ve no doubts he will be a great addition to Alex McLeish’s squad.”
