Pablo Fornals to Villarreal

Pablo Fornals has, as of this morning paid his buy-out clause to La Liga.

The club in question has since been confirmed as being Villarreal. With the 21 year old quick to update his twitter bio to being a Villarreal player following the signing of a 5 year contract.

With a low release clause of only €12 million – Fornals should prove a fantastic capture going forward for Villarreal. Comfortable working in both directions from the centre of the park and after scoring 6 goals and creating a further 2 last season, the 21 year old’s technical quality should take some of the load off Manu Trigueros this coming season for The Yellow Submarine.

A real star in the making, Fornals was one of the breakout stars of the past La Liga season.

The Spaniard has the potential to reach the ultimate heights within the game.

He may not be as dominant in games yet, but still emerged as a key player for Malaga.

Was rumoured with a move to Arsenal as a replacement for Santi Cazorla early on in the summer. Such a move would have made sense footballing wise – but in moving to Villarreal – Fornals has ensured he will get sufficient game time.

This just shows that there is still value in the current market and every team doesn’t need to spend over €30 million for a first team player.
