Reading have agreed a fee with Austrialian A League side Central Coast Mariners for midfielder Tom Rogic.

The news of the transfer was broken on The Football Family late on New Years Day, and woulc be the second aquistion after the signing of Portuguese midfielder Daniel Carrico.

The Austrialian International is out of contract In May, and the clubs have agreed a $600,000 fee for his services.

The Premier League side were initially made aware of the youngster after scouting him at the Nike academy in 2011. Unfortunately Rogic couldn’t agree a move due to work permit problems.

Mariners Chairman Peter Turnbull has confirmed he expects the midfielder to complete his move to The Madejski Stadium by the end of the week.

Due to his past converastions with the Royals, it is likely he will accept the offer of moving to England, and will be utilised in the number 10 role behind Pogrebnyak.

If he joins the relegation threatened side, he will join up with fellow Socceroos Adam Federici and Ryan Edwards
