Reading owner Anton Zingarevich has today announced the club after looking to bring in upto seven players this summer in the quest for an instant return to the Premier League.
The son to Billionnaire Timber tycoon Boris, has already signed left back Wayne Bridge on a one-year contract to demonstrate the pulling power of the club, with the former Chelsea and Southampton full back being their number 1 target for that position.
Zingarevich also revealed the club are close to announcing two further signings this week in an interview in the Reading Post with journalist Jonathan Low:
"I think there will be five to seven new players coming in, including a couple this week, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed."
“We’ll do the deals that we know we want to do. We have the targets locked up right now and hopefully they will work out. You always have interest from other clubs so we’ll see.” “Attracting players wasn’t the problem from last summer, the winter or right now."
“Players want to come here."
“We have to explain to them what we’re trying to do, but collectively we work as a team.
“Nick (Hammond, director of football) does his part, Nigel (Adkins, manager) does his and I do mine so hopefully that will be enough for the new season.”
