Reading have tonight confirmed the signing of striker Nick Blackman from Sheffield United.
The forward underwent a succesful medical today at Hogwood Park, and has agreed personal terms on a three and a half year contract at The Madejski Stadium.
It would be a huge rise for the player, who only left Blackburn Rovers in the summer to play his football in Sheffield for the Blades.
The twenty-three year old has scored fourteen goals this season, and can also operate on the wing which will be a big boost for the Premier League side as they look to strengthen their squad in their pursuit of Premier League safety.
Blackman played against Reading on Saturday during their FA Cup tie at the Madejski Stadium, and impressed Manager Brian McDermott despite losing the match 4-0.
The striker isn't likely to be the last arrival at the club this window, with talks ongoing for Blackpool starlet Thomas Ince, and another defensive signing high on the clubs priorities before Thursdays 11pm deadline.
