Reading to increase Ince offer

Reading are to step up their interest in Blackpool winger Thomas Ince it has been revealed this morning.

The winger has been strongly linked with a return to his former club Liverpool during the Transfer Window, though no deal has been agreed between both clubs for the player.

Reading threw their hat into the ring yesterday, where Manager Brian McDermott announced they had made a bid of for the player, which was later rejected by the Championship side, believed to be around £6.5 million.

After their recent form, the Royals have shown signs of life in the Premier League, and it appears this has pushed owner Anton Zingarevich to give McDermott the money he needs to keep the club in Englands top flight.

Reports this morning have stated an increased offer of £8 million will be put in for Ince today, with the relegation threatened side confident a deal can be done.

If Reading can agree a fee for the England U21 International, it would shatter their previous club record fee for a player, paying around £3 million for Watford defender Adrian Mariappa.

Rumours from the Madejski Stadium today, have even suggested Ince is to undergo a medical this afternoon, on the players 21st birthday. Though nothing has been officially annouced.
