Real Madrid win UEFA Super Cup 2014

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real Madrid comfortably beat Sevilla in the final of the UEFA Super Cup 2014.

Real Madrid’s squad amounted to £526 million before the match with the most expensive transfers in the world being included in their starting eleven. With the likes of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez, there were huge expectations for the Spanish giants.

Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring when Gareth Bale, the most expensive player produced a perfectly placed cross into Ronaldo’s path, where he calmly slotted it into the back of the net.

Ronaldo then doubled the lead with a low drilled shot into the corner of the net after a well weighted ball was played in by France International Karim Benzema which confirmed the Galatico’s victory.

Cristiano Ronaldo has dedicated his man of the match award to Sir Alex Ferguson and was seen hugging his former boss after the match.

Gareth Bale was also very delighted and honoured to win such a trophy in his home country as the match took place in the Cardiff City Stadium.

Gareth Bale after the game said “Winning the Super Cup is a dream come true.”
