New Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made his first move in this January window by signing a player he knows well, Magnus Wolff Eikrem from Heerenveen for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old Midfielder has joined in time to go into the squad for the game against West Ham on Saturday. Eikrem has played for Solskjaer at Manchester United reserves and Molde. He moved to Heerenveen in the summer and has only played 13 games for them before making his move to Wales. Eikrem was at United for 5 years however never made a first team appearance.
Eikrem can play anywhere in the midfield, and Solskjaer describes him as “someone who likes to get on the ball and can see a pass. He’s technically very good, including set pieces and has great vision”.
Eikrem is a full international for Norway and has made 13 appearances for his country since making his debut in January 2012.
