Spartak Moscow have announced their first major signing of the summer in the form of Valenci CF central midfielder Tino Costa on a long term contract.
The Argentine International moves for a reported fee of £6.5 million and will join fellow native’s Nicolás Pareja and Juan Insaurralde at the Luzhniki Stadium next season, which will help him adapt to his new life in Russia.
Costa was highly regarded in La Liga, and featured 42 times for Valencia last season, who missed out on a European Spot on the last day of the season to Real Sociedad, after a 4-3 loss to Sevilla.
The 28-year old had a year left on his current contract, and joined the Spanish side in 2010 from French side Montpellier for a fee of just over £6 million.
He is highly known for his dead ball expertese from free kicks and penalities, and his range of passing which will be useful to Spartak ahead of their 2013/14 UEFA Europa League qualifying campaign and to progress from their fourth placed finish in the Russian Premier-Liga last term.
