Reports from SkySports this afternoon have suggested newly promoted Hull City are looking to sign Celtic striker Gary Hooper.
The Tigers have reportedly tabled a bid of £4 million for the former Scunthorpe forward and are awaiting a response from Celtic.
Hooper has been heavily linked a move to the Premier League, with Norwich City failing with three bids last season to land the prolific forward who has a fantastic goalscoring record in the SPL in Scotland.
Norwich City’s interest has cooled after signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel from Sporting Lisbon this summer and Steve Bruce’s Tigers are looking to steal a march on their rivals and land the forward.
At 25 and with only a year left on his currect contract at Park Head, Hooper is an attractive proposition to all Premier League clubs and has also been linked heavily to recently relegated Reading under Nigel Adkins, where the player featured during his time at Scunthorpe in League 1.
It hasn’t been revealed whether the offer has been accepted from Hull City, although with Sky’s reliability these days, i would be surprised if an offer has even been lodged.
