Central Coast Mariners midfielder Tom Rogic is to go on trial with SPL Champions Celtic in the coming days.
The attacking midfielder had previously been linked with Reading after the clubs agreed a deal around £500,000. It had been suggested he didn't favour a move to Reading whom are currently five point adrift in the relegation zone, though no word has confirmed this from either party.
The 20 year old is out of contract with the A League side in the next few months, and will fly out to Celtics Winter training camp in Marbella where they will monitor his progress.
After his trial he will fly back to Austrilia to take part in his sides match against Newcastle Jets on January 19th.
Mariners head coach stated:
"This is a great opportunity for Tomas to train with Celtic's first-team squad," he said.
"Celtic are in their mid-season break and are busy preparing for their Champions League matches against Juventus starting in February, so Tom will undoubtedly learn a lot from the experience."
It is uncertain what the future holds for the Australian International with his future lying between Celtic, Central Coast Mariners and Reading. It will all be decided within the next two weeks regarding his final destination.
