Tottenham Hotspur this evening confirmed the signing of defender Ezekiel Fryers from Standard Liege
The left back who can also operate as centre half left current Premier League leaders Manchester United in the summer aftering turning down a three year contract to stay at Old Trafford.
After leaving the Red Devils, he was training with the Tottenham squad during pre-season although they couldn't agree a compensation package due to the player being under the age of 24.
Due to this, Fryers made the move across Europe to Belguim where he linked up with Standard Liege on a free transfer. He made seven appearances for the club in he tenure there, although he has always been linked with a move to White Harte Lane since his arrival.
Finally he has has long awaited move to London, for a fraction of the fee which Spurs would have paid for his services in the summer, believed to be around £2.5 million.
He will be utilised as a left back, to provide competition for Benoit Assou-Ekotto and will be initially part of the clubs development squad
