Transfer News - Monday 31st December

Reading have signed their first player of the transfer window in the form of former Sporting Lisbon captain Daniel Carrico. The defender will join for a fee believed to be around £700,000.

Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is in talks with MLS side LA Galaxy regarding a permanent transfer. The Italian currently finds himself fourth choice goalkeeper at White Hart Lane

Serie A side Lazio have reportedly offered Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard a three-year contract to join the club. The Italian reports also suggest his contract will be worth around £7 million across the three year period.

Norwich City are interested in striker Ibrahim Toure of Monaco. the twenty-seven year old is a long term target of current manager Chris Hughton.

Demba Ba's move to Chelsea appears to be off due to the amount of money his agent is looking to gain from the deal. There is also speculation the striker wants £120,000 a week to move from St. James Park.

Newcastle United are looking to conclude a French double raid with the acquisitions of Mathieu Debuchy and Loic Remy. the right back looks set to sign in the next few days after being courted by The Magpies since the summer. Remy however is interesting many parties including Harry Redknapp's Queens Park Rangers
