West Ham United are wasting no time in the transfer market this summer with the club announcing the capture of Real Betis goalkeeper Adrian this afternoon.
The news of the 26-year olds capture follows a fee being agreed for Liverpool striker Andy Carroll, the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk left back Razvan Rat and the recent offer rejected for Spanish International Alvaro Negredo.
Adrian has spent his whole career at the Spanish side and will compete with current goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen for the number 1 shirt at Upton Park next season.
The stopper will join up with the club when his contract runs out at the end of the month, and completed a medical with his new side yesterday in London.
In an interview on the West Ham official website, Adrian stated:
“I am extremely happy and ecstatic to have joined such a legendary and historical club."
“I am really looking forward to being able to kick-off my career in the best league in the world with West Ham."
“I am very fortunate to be able to work with such an experienced goalkeeper with such a long track record in the Premier League as Jussi Jaaskelainen."
