West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Wolfsburg defender Emanuel Pogatetz on loan for the remainder of the season.
The versatile defender who can play anywhere across the backline returns to English football after previously spending time with Middlesbrough, and will join recent aquistions Joe Cole, Marouane Chamakh and Wellington Paulista at Upton Park this January.
The thirty-year old has 52 caps for Austria and will go straight into the Hammers squad for their match versus London rivals Fulham on Wednesday evening at Craven Cottage.
Pogatetz was delighted to move (speaking on the clubs official website): " I feel very good to be here and I am very excited about playing for West Ham."
