Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane wants to sell Gareth Bale before the club make a solid move for Monaco attacker Kylian Mbappe.
Interest in French international Mbappe has been rife this summer after he burst on to the scene last season with Monaco, helping them to a Ligue 1 title and to a Champions League semi-final place.
Whilst interest has been held by the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona – it has been Florentino Perez’s Madrid that have always been linked.
And, following news that the youngster has handed in a transfer request in France – further links have continued with Spanish daily Marca claiming Madrid are looking at all avenues to make the move a reality.
The reports claim that boss Zidane has told president Perez that he wants one of either Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale sold – and it looks most likely to be the latter.
Bale’s arrival in Madrid has been a 50/50 success, helping the club to two Champions League titles but suffering numerous injuries, which saw him ruled out for the latter part of Madrid’s double winning success last season.
Benzema is likely to remain at the club, whilst Ronaldo’s future is sealed after being made a club captain.
Monaco are reluctant to allow Mbappe to leave but having signed Jordi Mboula from Barcelona, a ready replacement is at the club just in case their much talked about talent leaves.
